THE TEAM
We are the Formula Student team from Instituto Superior Técnico.
Our mission is to develop prototypes to participate in international Formula Student competitions, an event created for the next generation of engineers. We are working with the goal of developing a new prototype: The FST 13. This is the team's 10th 100% electrical car and the 4th autonomous car.
WHAT WE DO
Design, build and test Formula type cars, in order to compete
We compete internationally in the Formula Student competitions, representing Portugal before other universities and companies around the world. As of now, we've developed 12 prototypes of which the first three were combustion and the remaining electric. On the last season, we developed FST 12, our newest prototype, a vehicle with the capacity to compete in both autonomous and electric classes.

CREATING ENGINEERS
We work with tight timescales to get the cars built and ready for the competitions.
The companies’ involvement as sponsors or in the Formula Student competitions allows us to have a closer relationship between employers and future engineers, enabling experience and knowledge sharing.
Moreover, we get to develop greatly appreciated skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, and the importance of commitment while still having a blast.
