The team attended the workshop given by SKF on the bearing selection process where the company’s new tool, SKF Bearing Select, was presented.
These parts are used in almost every kind of machinery, since they reduce friction consequently allowing smoother rotations while still protecting the part that supports the rotation, and maintaining the correct position for the rotating shaft.
So for example, every bellcrank implemented on the car has 2 bearings between it and its support. In total, on the suspension systems, FST 10e will have over 20 bearings with different properties.
The team also welcomed SKF representatives at the workshop during which they validate some of the solutions designed for the transmission of the FST 10e.
